In December all sections have been preparing for and enjoying their Christmas celebrations. The Beavers joined with the Beavers from 9th Lymington Group for a get-together in the Pennington HQ, and were entertained by a conjurer. They, in turn, entertained the folk in Monmouth House. They also attended a special Beaver Service at St Thomas' Church and took part in the nativity play at St Mark's. (Edward, Jason and Owen were Wise Men and Jacob the leading Shepherd.) These events count toward earning their Faith Badge, for which they must also prepare a written prayer.

The Cub’s Christmas Party had a Simpsons Family theme with the fancy dress as characters from the show, (but I’m told that yellow make up was a no-no!) and they watched the Simpsons’ Movie.

The Scouts organised their own party with games, music, refreshments and teatotal “cocktails“.

Now it’s back down to earth with badge work. The Scouts' spring programme will include visits to Gunwharfe Quay and HMS Warrior in Portsmouth and a Ten Pin Bowling evening.
